Department: Economics

The Economics Department offers majors in economics leading to both Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Science (BS) degrees, as well as majors in corporate finance, international business, FinTech and actuarial studies for business, which lead to a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree. Additionally, students have the option to pursue a minor in economics.

Economics majors gain a strong foundation in economic theory, statistical methods, and analytical and computational skills, enabling them to evaluate the impact of economic policies. This training equips students with valuable tools applicable to careers in business, finance, consulting, public administration, accounting, law, journalism, foreign service, politics, education, social work, and even medicine. Some of our graduates go on to earn a Ph.D. in Economics or a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from prestigious graduate programs.

Others continue their studies in professional schools specializing in law, journalism, social work, public administration, or medicine. Additionally, training in economics prepares students for careers in economic research or teaching economics and social studies at the secondary level.
