Introduction to Astrophysics II

Topics include the relationship between general relativity and Newtonian gravity, and applications to black holes and solar system physics; planets and small solar system bodies; the formation of the solar system; the Milky Way and galactic identification and evolution; and finally, cosmology and the thermal history of the universe. Only first and second semester calculus is used.
