Description

This course will survey major economic principles, institutions, and problems. It will review the nature and methods of economics; economic processes in market and other systems; the role of the government in economics; the nature of the business firm, industrial organization, and monopoly; the position of labor in the U.S. economy; determination of the levels of income, prices, savings, investment, and employment; money and banking; the problems of poverty and income distribution; and the role of stabilization policy as it relates to the business cycle, deficit spending, stagflation, aggregate labor supply, and overall growth in the economy.
