Department: Business and Liberal Arts
The Queens College program in business administration, housed in the economics department, offers three majors leading to the degree of Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA). The program draws on the strengths of the Queens College economics, accounting and mathematics departments. These departments have a long tradition of excellence in both teaching and faculty research, and the new program builds on existing strengths within the college, such as the finance curriculum, the strength of the economics department in international economics, and the strength of the actuarial preparation program in the department of mathematics. These programs have produced many business leaders in the New York area and elsewhere.
The BBA program provides a solid business education that responds to the demand of prospective employers for specific quantitative and technological competencies. Data analysis and spreadsheet modeling play a central role in our integrated curriculum. Teamwork and group projects are also critical ingredients that help ensure that our graduates have sufficient practice in communicating ideas to appear both polished and poised.
