Description

Examination of the relationship between the internet (and other new technologies) and politics. Students will studythe impact of the internet on politics, power, and democracy and consider topics like social networks, AI, algorithms,automated decision-making, digital surveillance, computational propaganda, protest movements, online activism,various forms of information disorders and their offline effects (e.g. violence). Students will be asked to hone their critical thinking skills and to develop tools for information and digital literacy.
