Latinx and the Media

Description

This course examines the representation of Latinx content in mainstream U.S. media. Students approach the field of Latinx Media through an interdisciplinary lens by reading inquiries from Media Studies, Linguistics, Feminist & Ethnic Studies, Communication, and Sociology. Students will focus on mediums such as newspapers, radio, television, streaming services, music, and social media. Not open to students who have taken MEDST 225.
