Description
Analysis of policymaking in the U.S. using a variety of frameworks. The roles of public and private participants in the policy process, the historical development of national political institutions, and the ways in which the structures of policymaking institutions and cultural values influence that process, will be discussed. Case studies will be used to illustrate the policy process in such areas as health, education, housing, tax, and employment. A major objective is to provide students with the knowledge and skills to participate actively in policymaking process.
