Description

Recognition of common rock-forming minerals, rock fabric variation, and the implications with respect to origin of various combinations provides the framework for examining the physical and chemical properties of Earth materials. These properties in turn have been of value and use to society. How? Why? When? Where? Changes over time as modified and controlled by availability, accessibility, and aesthetics is a key component, with special emphasis on experiments and exercises that illustrate various points.
